5. Major General George H. Thomas
The parade that preceeded the dedication ceremony of this equestrian statue, considered to be one of
the best equestrian monuments in the capital, was "second in size only to the Grand Review, the parade
stretched on for two miles."
The monument was commissioned by members of the Society of the Army of the Cumberland.
