8. Manassas Assembly of God Property

Background. The subject church-owned property includes the terrain over which Brig. Gen. William Kirkland's North Carolina Brigade advanced toward the railroad cut occupied by Union forces during the Battle of Bristoe Station.  The Church and its pastor have, from time-to-time, proposed to develop the tract for various purposes including that of a for-profit cemetery. The southern half of this property is currently zoned M-2 (light Industrial); the entire property is shown as Flexible Employment Center on the Comprehensive Plan. The Civil War Trust (CWT) has attempted to purchase the entirety of the tract of approximately 130 acres (or a significant portion thereof), but to date has been unsuccessful.  This property is crucial to preserving the core Bristoe Station Battlefield.
