Features: The Battle of Antietam has
been referred to as the bloodiest day in American Military
History. Please join us for the 2017 Spring Tour: “Battle
of Antietam,” as we walk some of the most contested ground
in the entire American Civil War with stops at famous
sites like the Cornfield, West Woods, Sunken Road,
Burnside Bridge, Antietam National Cemetery, and several
others. Robert E. Lee, with his Maryland campaign gone
awry, decided to make a stand along the Antietam Creek.
The Fall Tour, sponsored by the Bull Run Civil War Round
Table, will walk this bloody ground that saw more than
23,000 casualties. Antietam was the first battlefield to
ever be photographed. Find out how terrain influenced the
battle, and how this one-day contest affected both
individuals and a nation at war.
