Fundraising
Committee
The
Fundraising Committee works under the direction of the
President and
the Executive Committee to obtain funds to support
BRCWRT operations
and projects. Fundraising techniques may include direct
donations,
lotteries, Civil War art and memorabilia sales, and book
sales. The
primary use of funds raised is to support BRCWRT general
operations;
however, funds may be raised for specific purposes such
as the BRCWRT
Scholarship Fund, historical signs, etc., so long as the
specific
purpose is consistent with the BRCWRT’s stated 501(c)(3)
objectives.
The
Executive Committee will appoint a BRCWRT member to
serve as Chair of
the Fund Raising Committee. The Chair of the Fundraising
Committee is
an ex-officio member of the Executive Committee.
Responsibilities
of the Fundraising Committee include:

Request and receive
donations from BRCWRT members

Manage and conduct
project-specific fundraising activities

Manage and conduct
project-specific fundraising activities, as
appropriate, from external organizations and
personnel

Manage and conduct
BRCWRT book sales program

Coordinate with
BRCWRT Treasurer to ensure all donations are
properly recorded and accounted for
Monetary donations
to the
BRCWRT, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, are tax
deductible. Donations will be properly recorded and
deposited by the BRCWRT
Treasurer, who will also provide donation receipts, as
appropriate.
