to D.C. CIVIL WAR SITES
The Virginia-Maryland-DC area is unarguably a
treasure-trove of Civil War history. Although most Civil War
enthusiasts who have lived here for some time probably know every
nook and cranny of CW-related turf, there are those of us who have
yet to discover many of the out-of-the-way sites scattered around
the area.
This page introduces as many of these sites as I can find - it is
a work-in-progress. And since they are local to DC and the
surrounding area, it doesn't take long to drive out and visit
them.

CLARK HOUSE, Munson Hill, Baileys Crossroads-Falls Church
Munson's Hill was a 260-acre farm owned by Timothy Munson in the
Baileys Crossroads area. It was the scenen of one of the earliest
encounters in the Civil War and was JEB Stuart's headquarters for
more than 2 months after the First Battle of Manassas.
