Harpers Ferry “Beyond the Raid”

DATE:  Saturday, June 13, 2026.  (Rain date: Saturday, June 20, 2026).

TOUR STOPS:
  • September 1862 Battle of Harpers Ferry – Confederate positions at Bolivar Heights,      Schoolhouse Ridge and Murphy House.
  •  Allstadt House – raided by John Brown (time permitting).
  •  Kennedy Farm and farmhouse– John Brown raid headquarters.
  •  Harpers Ferry Brewery.

MAXIMUM ATTENDEES: 25.

COST: Up to four passenger vehicle free with NPS America the Beautiful pass OR Harpers Ferry standard vehicle or annual pass OR $20.00. Passes may be purchased at the park visitor center or online at https://www.nps.gov/hafe/planyourvisit/fees.htm. Passes must be displayed on vehicle rearview mirror or dashboard. No cash accepted.

MEET: 8:00 AM at Centreville Library. Assemble caravan and distribute attendees holding NPS passes amongst cars. 8:30 AM depart for Harpers Ferry. 9:45 AM arrive at Harpers Ferry main gate parking, 171 Shoreline Drive, Harpers Ferry, WV 25425. Attendees planning self transport should arrive at main gate parking by 9:45 AM.  Reassemble caravan to minimize number of cars due to tour route parking limitations. Commence tour at 10:15 AM.  Please advise tour contact if you will self transport.

TRANSPORTATION:  Caravan from Centreville or self transport to Harpers Ferry main
gate parking.

DRESS:  Appropriate dress for local weather conditions. Wear comfortable walking shoes. Minimal walking required.
 
LUNCH: 2:15 PM Harpers Ferry Brewery, pizza and beer. Individual tabs. No outside food or beverage allowed

TOUR DURATION:  Approximately 8  hrs including lunch and drive to and from Harpers Ferry. Arrive back to Centreville approximately 4:30 PM.
